2. Call Logs, Contacts & Phone State Access
To function as your default Android Phone Dialer (Default Phone Handler), IZ Call requests sensitive communication permissions. We utilize these exclusively to deliver essential telephone experiences:
- Read & Write Call Logs (READ_CALL_LOG, WRITE_CALL_LOG): Required solely to present your call history, recents list, and allow you to edit or clear logged entries directly within our interface.
- Contacts (READ_CONTACTS, WRITE_CONTACTS): Required to display caller identification, populate T9 search suggestions, manage favorite speed dials, and attach per-contact Dual-SIM preferences.
- Phone State & Call Handling (READ_PHONE_STATE, CALL_PHONE, MANAGE_OWN_CALLS): Essential to monitor cellular ring states, manage incoming and outgoing phone calls, provide multi-SIM card routing, and control call telephony sessions through Android's Telecom framework.
3. Microphone Audio, Call Recording & On-Device AI
IZ Call includes innovative voice calling features such as optional call recording, live translations, real-time speech-to-text call transcription, and our fraud-prevention Scam Shield. Here is how your voice data is governed:
- Microphone Access (RECORD_AUDIO, FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MICROPHONE): Accessed only when active calling, voice dialing, call recording, or live AI transcription features are explicitly triggered by you.
- 100% On-Device AI Execution: Our speech-to-text transcription engine, Scam Shield pattern matching, and call conversation summarization run entirely locally on your physical smartphone's neural processing hardware. Your voice audio stream is never sent to cloud servers for processing.
- Local Audio Storage: Call recordings and transcribed notes are saved strictly in your device's private local memory storage, under your exclusive ownership and physical access control.
4. Location Data ("Where Are You?" & Emergency SOS)
IZ Call incorporates an optional safety and navigation utility titled "Where Are You?":
- Foreground Location (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION, ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION): When you explicitly tap the location safety card during a phone call, the app queries your instantaneous GPS coordinates to render a local isometric street map and allow you to quickly share your precise location with trusted friends or emergency contacts.
- No Background Location: We strictly do not collect or track your geographical coordinates in the background when the app or safety screen is closed.
- Intent-Based SOS Messaging: Emergency SMS location sharing invokes standard Android operating system communication intents (Intent.ACTION_SENDTO), securely passing your message to your chosen default SMS messaging app without needing silent background SMS permissions.
5. Advertising & Google Play In-App Purchases
To sustain development and offer free access, IZ Call partners with industry-standard Google frameworks:
- Google AdMob: We utilize Google AdMob to display non-intrusive advertisements. AdMob may utilize standardized Android Advertising IDs to deliver relevant ads and combat click fraud, governed strictly by Google's Privacy Policy. Premium ad-free tier users have all ad tracking queries completely terminated.
- Google Play Billing: In-app purchases (such as Premium subscriptions and luxury custom themes) are processed securely through Google Play Billing. We never receive or store your credit card, bank account, or financial credentials.
6. User Control & Contact Support
You maintain absolute rights over your data. You may grant or rescind sensitive permissions at any time via your smartphone's system App Settings, or delete stored call records and recordings directly within the app.
